Description / Abstract: These standards cover single stage and multistage mechanical drive steam turbines intended to drive pumps, fans, compressors, and so forth. This standard is also applicable to turbines expanding various gases or compressed air.  In addition, the standard applies to auxiliary equipment associated with the turbine only, such as governors, baseplates, steam piping and so forth. The standard does not apply to the driven equipment or the other equipment in the steam cycle.
