Description / Abstract: This standards publication covers the minimum requirements for protective coverings on returnable and nonreturnable reels containing electric cable, cord, an wire for domestic shipment under normal conditions and proper handling. Improved methods of handling, storage, and transportation would permit lesser degrees of Protective covering. Reels intended for shipment overseas may require coverings of heavier materials.
