This standard specifies requirements for portable general purpose luminaires, other than handlamps, for use with tungsten filament, tubular fluorescent and other discharge lamps on supply voltages not exceeding 250 V. This standard is completed by requirements for garden lamps from IEC 60598-2-7 and also by requirements for the operation of these luminaires with LED light sources.
