This part of IEC 62196 series is applicable to vehicle couplers of standardized configuration for a.c. and d.c. power supply of light electric vehicles whose protection class is class II or class III, herein referred to as 'accessories', intended for use in conductive power supply systems which may incorporate control means, with a rated supply/operating voltage not exceeding 163 - 480 V a.c. 50 Hz - 60 Hz and 164 - 200 V d.c.
