This draft deals with the safety of electric oral hygiene appliances for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. This draft covers modifications for vulnerable people and children. These modifications are mainly already coverd by DIN EN 60335-2-52/A11:2011, but are modified and rendered more precisely. Especially it is now allowed that the On-/Off switch can operate additional functions, if the appliance does not persent a hazard and if there is an immediate feed back. In Addition to that the thinkness of plastic coating while measuring the surface temperature rise was modified.
