This draft deals with the safety of electrical appliances and machines for household environment and commercial purpose, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and machines and 480 V for other appliances and machines. This regular update of the standard covers changes in 12 different clauses an a new annex covering the test of non-metalliic material when exposed to UV-C radiation inside an appliance. The draft includes modifications according to vulnarable people known froom the Eurpan edition of this standard. This modifications were proposed by CENELEC to IEC and were now implemented in the standard, however after several modifications. Claus 7 Marking and Instructions provides several updates. E.g. it is defined were warnings in the instructions must be found, that instructions must be available in an alternative format to the printed version and which height warnings must use. A test cylinder for small parts which may lead to a choking hazard is also part of this new draft. In clause 19 abnomal operation and 24 Components the new names of motor running capacitors were tatken into account. Besides S2 also S3 capacitors are mentioned. According the funtional safety of controls new amendments were made. In the new annex T tests according the influence of UV-C radiation on non-metallic matieral are described.
