Technical assistant systems enhance autonomy and arrange or provide assisting services in the home environment thus providing an intelligent environment which can be adapted to the user's individual needs. Unambiguous description methods are needed to adapt such assistant systems to certain specific applications and implement them adequately and precisely. The conceptual implementation of such adaptations of technologies and systems can be supported by the use of integration profiles. This VDE application guide looks at the method for describing integration profiles in the AAL sector. It deals with a conceptualisation of the informal method for describing integration profiles in VDE-AR-E 2757-6-1 from three points of view. The concepts of the abstract view represent a direct conceptualisation. This view corresponds to the early planning phase. The additional requirements view opens up possibilities for further functional specialization. It is useful for advanced planning. The third view presented allows reference to specific components. It is no longer part of implementation-dependent integration profiles. Finally, application examples of codes, a modelling example of an AAL channel and an AAL route are presented. The present document is addressed to planners, system integrators, component manufacturers and suppliers and manufacturers of design tools.
