This standard applies to shunt reactors, reactors having windings with rated voltage Un lower than or equal to 1000 V, current-limiting reactors including neutral-earthing reactors, damping reactors, tuning (filter) reactors, earthing transformers (neutral couplers), arc-suppression reactors, smoothing reactors. It does not apply to reactors with a rating less than 1 kvar single-phase and 5 kvar three-phase and not for reactors for special purposes such as high-frequency line traps or reactors mounted on rolling stock.
