This powerpoint presentation presents a study of the occurrence, fate and transport of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) in three California watersheds: the StateProjectWater(SPW); the Santa Ana River (SAR); and, the Colorado River Water (CRW). Sampling locations and frequency are listed, along with analytical study methods that included the following: PPCPs detected in other watersheds;PPCPs from different categories;organic wastewater contaminants (OWCs);analysis of volatile and semi-volatilecompounds by GC/MS; analysis of polar and non-volatilecompounds by LC/MS and LC/MS/MS; and, intra- and inter-laboratory QA/QC. A list of analytes is provided, along with a list of the most frequently detected PPCPs and OWCs, and results are given for the detection in all three watersheds of Carbamazepine, Primidone, Gemfibrozil, Sulfamethoxazole, and Caffeine.
