Full Description
This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the features of an ultrafiltration device. Motivation for developing the device included:standard microbiological sample concentration techniques maynot allow detection of some pathogens at levels of concern forpublic health impacts in water, increasing the concentration ofmicroorganisms in a sample improves detection;nearly all techniques for the detection of microorganisms inwater require some type of concentration step, most oftenfiltration; and, develop one device that can concentrate viruses, bacteria, andprotozoa, including microorganisms for which there are noexisting methods. Performance criteria is provided, along with target volume selection, target sample volume andtypical volume reduction, typical process parameters, lab testing of concept, prototype concentrator device, comparison of recovery efficiency - automated versus manual systems; and, recovery of organisms from finishedwaters using a laboratory based system. Includes tables, figures. Product Details
