Full Description
This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the AwwaRF project (Assavasilavasukul et al., 2008), "Effect of Pathogen Load on Pathogen Removal by Conventional Treatment." The overall study objective was to quantify the removal, accumulation and release of protozoan parasites in granular filters in relation to the microbial and particulate load, and thecharacteristics of the filter. The specific objective of this presentation was to characterize the removal of microspheres in relation to their initial concentration and particulate load in lab scale experiments. Experimental conditions are provided for source water characteristics, source of particles, experimental design and setup, and sampling of strained microspheres. Presentation conclusions indicate that under these experimental conditions, theinfluent concentration had minimal effecton microsphere removal, and that training was minimal ( 1%) with andwithout kaolin particles. Includes table, figures. Product Details
