Full Description

This powerpoint presentation begins by presenting the study objective, which was to determine if switching to chloramine would increase lead release fromlead pipes with existing scale. New pipe rig experiments are presented, along with lead leaching from new lead pipes, free chlorine vs. chloramine, Clsub2/sub:NHsub3/sub-N, stagnation time, and pH. Existing lead service line studies are presented, including: scale analysis; lead leaching; stagnation time; and, pH. Studies on nitrification and lead scale interactions are presented, and conclusions are provided for new lead pipe, harvested pipe with existing scale, and nitrification. Includes table, figures.
