Full Description
This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of Adenoviruses and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection. Previous work showing UV "resistance" was basedon:LP UV-monochromatic at 253.7 nm; and, cell culture infectivity. This work was based on:LP and MP (polychromatic) UV;newer UV technologies, extragenomic damage;QPCR; and, molecular method, direct assessment of damage. Structure of Adenoviruses, infectious cycle of Adenovirus, and QPCR Assay for DNA Damage are presented. Presentation conclusions indicate the following: direct, molecular-based assay does helpclarify effects of UV on adenovirus;DNA damage was the same in both LP and MP;LP UV damage likely gets repaired, allowing successful infection; and,MP UV causes other damage or interfereswith repair. Includes figures. Product Details
