Full Description

This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of Zheng Jiang City, China, and the Jinxi Water Treatment Plant (Zhen Jiang). The objective of the study includes the following: to investigate whether the combined ozone (O3) andbiological activated carbon (BAC) processes, as anadvanced treatment, were investigated to reduce thedissolved organics in effluent after conventionaltreatment. The experimental approach includes the pilot-scale set up, analytical components included CODMn, DOC, UV254 and THMFP. Presentation conclusions indicate the following: the favorable conditions were determined for removal ofCODMn, UV254, and DOC: O3=1 mg/L, BAC contacttime=8.6 min;UV254 and THMFP were significantly removed incoagulation/sedimentation, and further reduced by theozonation;the combination of O3 and BAC could further reduceCODMn and DOC; and,O3 +BAC primarily removed high MW organic molecules. Includes figures.
