The objectives of this powerpoint presentation were to:highlight job satisfaction issues of operators atsmall systems;provide some solutions for retaining andrecognizing operators; and,highlight some best practices. Methods included: surveying300 water operators about current operatorjob satisfaction and what would improve it; and,case studies from utilities that had goodoperator retention. Findings from operator survey are presented on who was surveyed, job satisfaction, water operators as professionals, and merit pay incentives. Several examples are provided. Includes figures.
