This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the impact of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) on watertreatment processes, and DOC removal. Study objectives include the following:formulate a mathematical model to describeremoval of DOC by anion exchange treatmentin a completely mixed flow reactor; and,evaluate the relative influence of processoperating conditions and DOC characteristicson process performance. Presentation conclusions indicate the following: two-scale mathematical model describing DOCremoval by anion exchange treatment;model predictions in agreement with the resultsof two pilot plant studies; and,model provides a tool to evaluate treatmentscenarios and process operating conditions.
