This slide presentation outlines a membrane pilot testing project with the First Utility District of Hawkins County, in eastern Tennessee. Pilot testing objectives included:Holston River is new sourcewithout existing water treatment plant (WTP) data;determine necessary pretreatmentprocesses or options;direct filtration or enhancedcoagulation decisions; and, determine allowable bid parametersfor flux rates, TMP, chemicalusage, backwash / recovery rates. Pilot testing protocol involved:State of Texas Standards Used AsGeneral Guidance;Optimization (30-60 Days);Clean-In-Place (CIP);30-Day Run at Optimized Rate;CIP;Integrity Test;48-Hour Irreversible Fouling Test; and,Final Report.
