This slide presentation outlines a study with the objectives of: evaluating the potential of naturally present and addedchemicals as fluencemeters;focusing on germicidal fluences (~ 100 - 2000 J msup-2/sup);testing both low- and medium-pressure Hg lamps; and,examining the effect of water qualitye.g., pH, TOC. Experimental procedures included:low- and medium pressure Hg lamps for Fesup3+/supand BA/Hsub2/subOsub2/sub, medium pressure for NOsub3/sub-;collimated beam experiments, radiometricfluence determination;shallow solution depth ( 1 cm);NOsub2/sub- and Fesup2+/sup analyzed by colorimetry; and,Hydroxy-BA analyzed by reversed phase HPLC.
