This slide presentation outlines information on a study of pilot-scale organic chloramine testing that involved four parallel recirculating pipe loops, and measured relative amounts of organic and inorganic chloramines. The report studied the effects of:pipe material;water source; and,distribution retention time. All sampling was done at the Mannheim pumping station in Ontario, Canada. Topics covered include: potential concerns of organic chloramines; Dalhousie pipe loops; pipe loop materials and HRT; analytical methods, QA/QC; calculation of organic chloramines; typical chloramine species results; results under standard operating conditions; low-level vs. high-level organic chloramine data sets; organic chloramine fraction inpipe loop influent; typical chloramine speciation types; influence of weather-related events; and, modified flow conditions.
