This work forms part of a new AWWA Research Foundation project. The project focuses on thevarious methods of brine disposal and minimization including identification and assessment ofthe promising and emerging methods, approaches, and technologies.This paper presents an overview of the available existing (commercialized) methods and thepromising and emerging (currently non-commercialized) methods in the industry.
