Three new technologies, advanced ion-exchange operations with indefinite brine recycling (AIXO-IBR), microsand assisted oxidation adsorption (MAOA), and coagulation-assisted ceramic filtration (CCF), were pilot tested for arsenic removal capabilities in Scottsdale, Arizona; Tucson, Arizona; and Billings, Montana. Preliminary design parameters and cost curves were developed based on the results of the year-long testing.
